What you say is true, as far as it goes. But remember you were free to publish it on Medium, a public website that rests on a giant foundation of technologies — the internet, semiconductors, compilers, money, laws — which only exist because of economies of scale.
Sure, being part of the crowd can make it easier to step on your neighbor's toes. But collective society offers freedom-increasing benefits, too. It's easy to take all that for granted, but all in all, I think I'm a lot freer than most people from less-dense historical societies, because my life is not consumed by chores. I'm even arguably freer than those in a comparably-privileged position within those societies, because I have access to things they could scarcely have dreamed of.
